nothing more than Animation Test 32 from the back. a 20 frame loop.

her butt actually flexes as she moves her weight from one leg to the other. so do her thighs and calves.

the butt flexing is why i go for a dynamic bottom; it conforms easily to the constantly changing butt topology. the breast movement happens to have been simple and the conforming top could accommodate it. not so with the bottom.

from this angle you can see that the arm joints don't work so well at such an extreme angle. also, the future hair which is easy to animate and looks good from the front is very lifeless from the back. i should have rendered with deja-vu, which looks good from any angle. call me lazy :)

it took me a while to get the timing on the hip swivel to something more realistic (uh, in an idealized sort of way ;))

oh yeah, copy of the gif is here and a QT movie version is here.

i agree, there's something off. i think it's a subtlety in timing and a bit of the motion. there is less movement of the musculature than would be realistic. for instance the back is completely static. no shoulder blade movement. there is no jiggle in the butt. no one can walk without jiggle. it's why lingerie modeling on a catwalk almost always looks bad. it's also way too symmetric.

i've seen mocap driven models and they still look stiff.

I have just one thing to say: Awsome view!

As sycostudio said, I had to go back and look for your "faults"... don't be too hard on yourself and KEEP POSTING!

of course, perfection can never be attained. but in the pursuit of perfection, i may achieve excellence :)

i think every artist/creative person is hard on themselves. it takes a hard stone to hone a knife edge to perfection :)

that's why it's fun posting. gives me a chance to view stuff through fresh eyes. when you're up close and personal with the work, you can miss the effect.
